Create a Kakao Business Channel + required setup after approval
To send AlimTalk, SangdamTalk, or Brand Messages, your Business Channel needs all four in place: sign-up + review + Home Visibility ON + customer-center info.
What is a Business Channel?
There are two kinds of KakaoTalk Channel:
- Regular channel — for individuals and small operators. Friends can add it, but it cannot send AlimTalk via API.
- Business Channel — for registered businesses with a business license only. A prerequisite for sending AlimTalk, SangdamTalk, and Brand Messages.
What Coauths CRM connects to is the Business Channel.
I already have a regular channel — do I need a new one?
If you already have a regular channel, you can simply convert it to a Business Channel. No need to create a new one. Your friend count and channel ID stay the same.
The conversion happens automatically from regular to Business once your application passes review.
Documents to submit (personal data must be masked)
Required
- Business license as PDF or photo — personal data must be masked
What to mask
- The last digits of the representative's resident registration number
- Mobile phone number
- Email address
- (For corporations) Resident registration numbers of officers other than the representative
(Medical institutions) May also be required
- Medical institution opening report/permit — issued by a Korean public health center or district office
Channel application steps
- Go to business.kakao.com → log in with your Kakao account
- A Kakao account in the representative's name is recommended (minimizes impact when operators change)
- Click “Start Kakao Business” → agree to the integrated membership terms
- Create a new channel (or convert an existing regular channel to a Business Channel)
- Enter the details:
- Channel name + search ID (e.g.
@우리병원) - Category: Medical/Hospital (required for medical corporations)
- Profile photo + cover + channel introduction
- Upload the business license (the masked file)
- Channel name + search ID (e.g.
- Agree to the terms → submit for review
- Wait 3–5 business days for review
- On approval it automatically converts to a Business Channel
⚠️ 3 required settings after approval
1. Confirm the conversion to a Business Channel
The conversion is automatic on approval. Confirm that the “Business Channel” label appears at the top of the Channel Admin Center.
2. Turn Home Visibility (홈공개) ON (different from plain “Public”)
- Channel Admin Center → Home → Display settings
- Set Home Visibility (홈공개) to ON
This is a separate option from the channel's own “Public” toggle, so don't confuse the two.
3. Enter customer-center information
- Channel Admin Center → Settings → Customer center info
- Register a phone number or URL (at least one is required)
- Phone number: the clinic's main number
- URL: the clinic's website or booking page
Top 3 rejection reasons
1. Personal data not masked
The resident registration number's last digits, phone, or email are still visible on the business license. Cover them with black rectangles and reapply.
2. Address mismatch
The address on the business license ≠ the address you entered. Match everything down to the spacing, lot number, and floor.
3. Wrong category
A medical corporation selected the wrong category, such as “Personal Blog”. The Medical/Hospital category is required.
Frequently asked questions
Q. How can I shorten the review time?
Review runs on business days. Holidays and long weekends make it longer. There's no way to speed it up, but if you're rejected and reapply with the exact reason fixed, it's usually faster.
Q. Can the channel name be in English?
You can, but Korean patients will find it harder to locate. A Korean channel name is recommended.
Q. What's next?
- Choose + sign up with a BSP (run in parallel with Track B)
- Register a sender profile (senderKey)

📍 If you're not confident about the masking, sending it to your Coauths contact for review beforehand is a good option.
