Issuing a WhatsApp System User permanent token

What a System User token is

A System User token is the non-expiring, permanent credential the CRM uses when calling the WhatsApp Cloud API (sending messages, media, and so on). It must be a token granted the whatsapp_business_messaging and whatsapp_business_management permissions, and the CRM stores it encrypted.

Who issues it (for manual connection)

One-click (Embedded Signup) will be available after Meta review passes, so for now a Coauths representative issues the token under Meta Business Settings → System Users, assigns the relevant WABA assets, and enters it into the CRM. Your clinic only needs to prepare a dedicated phone number and pass along the number verification code (OTP).

(Note: the token is issued under Coauths' Meta business/app, because incoming WhatsApp messages arrive at the Coauths app's webhook.)

📍 For the full procedure, see step 2 of the WhatsApp connection guide. If you get stuck on any part, please contact your Coauths representative.
