How to verify your business with Meta

This is the process by which Meta recognizes your clinic as a “real business.” It is not required for basic channel connection — it may only be needed for advanced steps such as showing your WhatsApp Display Name or raising your send limit.

What is Business Verification?

Business Verification is the process Meta uses to confirm “whether this company is a real, legally existing business.” You only need to complete it once, at the Business Manager level.

Connecting a channel itself does not require your clinic to be business-verified. This guide is for when an advanced step requires verification of your clinic as a business.

During review, Meta checks that your legal company name + address + phone number match your government-issued documents.

⚠️ Meta uses a mix of automated and manual review. Even a single-character difference in your documents can cause a rejection, so enter everything carefully.

Do I really need it?

It is not required for basic connection. Messenger, Instagram DM, and WhatsApp connections run through the Meta app that Coauths has already had verified, so your clinic can connect channels using only the CRM's connect button and the login popup.

Verification of your clinic as a business may be required for advanced steps such as:

  • Showing your WhatsApp Display Name — when you want to show the clinic name instead of the phone number on the patient's screen
  • Raising your WhatsApp send limit — when you need to send in bulk to more patients

When you reach that stage, your Coauths representative will let you know first. There is no need to get it in advance — when you need it, just follow the steps below.

Documents to submit

Required documents

  • Legal Business Name — must exactly match the business name on your business registration certificate. Match the spacing and notations like “Co., Ltd.” as well.
  • Legal Business Address — your place-of-business address. It must match the address on your business registration certificate.
  • Business Phone Number — your clinic's official number. Verified by SMS or voice.
  • Website URL — your clinic's domain.
  • Supporting documents (1–2 of the following):
    • Business Registration Certificate — in Korea, the PDF issued by the National Tax Service
    • Utility Bill — within the last 3 months
    • Lease Agreement — to prove the place-of-business address
    • Articles of Incorporation — for corporations

Recommended documents (not required, but raise your approval rate)

  • Domain email — having a company-domain email like info@yourclinic.com increases trust
  • A screenshot of your National Tax Service business registration information page

Submission process (step by step)

  1. Log in to business.facebook.com → left menu Business Settings
  2. Click Security Center in the left sidebar
  3. Business Verification section → Start Verification button
  4. Enter company information:
    • Legal company name
    • Legal address (exact down to city and postal code)
    • Phone number (including country code)
    • Website
  5. Choose a Confirmation Method:
    • Domain Email — receive a confirmation code at your company-domain email (fastest)
    • Phone Verification — SMS or voice
    • Document Upload — upload the document PDFs/images listed above
  6. Upload documents: PDF or JPG/PNG, under 5MB.
    • Show the entire page (not cropped)
    • Not blurry (300dpi or higher)
    • Korean-language documents are OK — no English translation needed
  7. Click Submit → the status changes to “In Review”

Review time

  • Typical: 1–3 business days
  • When there is a backlog: up to 7–10 business days
  • Reapplying after a rejection: another 1–3 business days (after 5 rejections, a 30-day lock applies)

You can always check the status under Security Center → Business Verification. The result is also sent to your registered email.

Top 3 rejection reasons and fixes

1. Business registration address ≠ entered address (by far the most common)

Example: the certificate says 서울특별시 강남구 테헤란로 123, 5층, but the field says 서울 강남구 테헤란로 123. Meta's automation compares character by character.

Fix:

  • Copy and paste from the certificate exactly, keeping the spacing and street-number notation
  • Match it down to the floor (watch out for differences like 5th floor vs. Unit 501)
  • Do not mix Korean and English — if the certificate is in Korean, use Korean

2. Company name ≠ business registration certificate

Example: the certificate says 주식회사 코아우스, but the field says 코아우스 클리닉. You must enter the legal entity name exactly, not the brand name.

Fix:

  • Use the “business name” or “legal entity name” field from the certificate exactly
  • Match whether “(주)” or “Co., Ltd.” is included

3. No domain email

Applying with a free email like gmail.com or naver.com lowers trust and increases the chance of rejection.

Fix:

  • Set up an email on your clinic's domain in advance (Google Workspace or domain-hosting mail)
  • Choose Domain Email as the Confirmation Method
💡 If you are rejected, the reason is written in the email. Fix exactly that reason and reapply. Changing other parts at the same time can cause a rejection for a different reason.

What changes after review?

Once approved, a “Verified Business” badge is added to your Business Manager, and you can proceed with these advanced steps:

  • Showing your WhatsApp Display Name — the clinic name is shown on the patient's screen
  • Raising your WhatsApp send limit — you can expand your bulk send limit

Once verification is complete, let your Coauths representative know. Coauths handles the steps to apply it afterward. Channel connection itself can be done anytime, regardless of verification, by following the Meta connection guide.

📍 If you keep getting rejected, contact your Coauths representative. We will review your entered document values together with you.
